After Ciarán, Domingos was on its way to Western Europe as evident in the Copernicus Sentinel-3 image, acquired on 3rd November 2023.

According to the Hydrographic Institute, the MONIZEE network’s buoys for northern Portugal recorded maximum values on 4th November, at 9 pm. The values are historical maximums acquired by the buoys.

CorPower Ocean says: Their commercial-scale wave energy converter (C4) has set a new record in storm survivability during the late evening of Saturday, 4th November. It was withstanding waves up to 18 meters high. The C4 device operates reliably through Babet, Aline Ciarán, and Domingos storms.

The C4 system was monitored from their control center in Stockholm, where reliable operation was confirmed with motion and loads well within design limits.

The unique storm survival mode enables their overall lightweight and low-cost design to provide robust operation in the harshest ocean conditions.
